What if Ryback Wins?
This then is the swerve option- give Ryback the title and break people's expectations. But this is an option fraught with danger. First off, it will almost certainly have to be a clean win- Ryback is a monster heel of the Big Show/Mark Henry variety rather than an opportunistic heel of the CM Punk/Edge type so he needs to be seen to be able to steamroll his opposition. Secondly, a Ryback title victory has to lead to a legitimate reign- one month with the title around his waist will not do him any favours- just ask Alberto Del Rio. Instead he has to be seen to be a legitimate champion who can take on and beat all comers. But that would mean that Ryback would have to shoulder a lot more promo work as well and a lot more would need to be entrusted to his ability to draw and perform on main events on Raw as well as PPVs. In the next couple of months one assumes that wrestlers like Brock Lesnar, Triple H and the Undertaker will once again take leave of the WWE and with CM Punk also temporarily off duty, it means that there's a great deal of pressure on the World Champions to perform. Ziggler has been entrusted with that job for the World Heavyweight Championship, but will the WWE allow Ryback to be the face of the WWE Title? So, Cena winning clean is no good and Ryback winning is probably too much of a risk? Is there a solution? Funny you should say that...
