Fascinating WWE Ideas That Flopped HARD!
4. The Nexus
The second this bunch of black and yellow-wearing "rookies" began ripping through the Monday Night Raw ring and the surrounding area, folks knew something undeniably fascinating had just begun.
Wade Barrett and the rest of his NXT pals became a super hot act overnight on June 7, 2010, annihilating the mighty John Cena and letting it be known that no one was safe as long as this bunch of brassed-off newcomers were in town.
And if the plan was to swiftly create a bunch of potential new main event sensations capable of carrying the company forward, then things were looking fairly strong in the months leading up to SummerSlam 2010.
But then it happened.
Rather than officially establishing the squad as a genuine threat by having them come out on top in their match against Team WWE, Cena reportedly pushed to overcome the hot up-and-coming stars on the night.
Terrific.
And from there, that bold, exciting idea of a fierce band of brothers soon completely unravelled as Nexus ultimately failed to recapture their momentum or heat over the next year or so post-Cena winning LOL.
