2. An ECW Brand

After successfully reviving the rebellious property known as ECW for two separate and utterly thrilling One Night Stands, Vince McMahon decided to properly bring back the land of extreme in 2006.

On paper, the concept of producing a fresh show containing names like Rob Van Dam, The Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer colliding with exciting up-and-comers like CM Punk seemed like a riveting one.

But with McMahon having the final say on what appeared on this Syfy program, it wasn't long before the true spirit of the hardcore company was drained from this new WWE ECW brand.

Hardcore contests were replaced by standard rules, bizarre sports entertainment gimmicks began popping up, and main event spots were given to totally extreme rebels like the Big Show and Batista.

And after that infamous August 1, 2006 debacle, one that saw both men getting booed out of the Hammerstein Ballroom by exasperated fans, things somehow got worse.

A dreadful December to Dismember PPV and Vince stupidly lifting the ECW title were just a few of the other embarrassing things that occurred during the spell that saw the extreme playground become little more than a sad flop of a C-show.
