Cameron Grimes and Kushida are the first two names to be announced for this week's Gauntlet Eliminator match to decide who will challenge Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at the upcoming Takeover PPV.

Kushida was the first competitor announced for the unique encounter on Thursday, with Grimes added to the showdown a day later.

The Gauntlet Eliminator will begin with two men in the ring. Then, every four minutes, another star will enter the ring and the only way to be eliminated from the bout is by pinfall or submission. When the dust settles, the last man standing in the middle of the ring will be the new number one contender to Balor's NXT title.

Judging from the first two performers announced for the contest, it looks like the brand may be pushing a new face into a main event scene which has largely been dominated by the likes of Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole and Tommaso Ciampa in recent times.

Also on this week's NXT, a massive women's battle royal to decide NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai's next challenger will go down, with stars such as Rhea Ripley, Dakota Kai, Candace LaRae and Tegan Nox all hoping to come out on top in the over-the-top-rope spectacle.

With those two blockbuster matches on the horizon, this week's black and yellow show is definitely shaping up to be a can't-miss episode.
