Forget Deadpool & Wolverine: 10 Potential WWE Universe Anchor Beings
1. The Fans of the WWE Universe Themselves
There was a McMahon at the helm of WWE from its inception, until there wasn't.
It was the Sammartino show until Hogan took over, who passed it to the New Generation class like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, who transitioned to the Austin era, Cena, Reigns, and so on. Every top guy eventually steps aside for the next face of the company.
Jim Ross was the voice of WWE until that honor was bestowed onto Michael Cole, who will eventually retire as well, and all the writers and executives like Nick Khan, The Rock, Triple H and others will pass the torch, too.
But the one consistent thing that will always be there to keep this reality running is the audience itself, so important that the crowd is even collectively referred to as the WWE Universe in general.
It is the viewers who dictate pushes like Daniel Bryan, go along with storylines by booing heels and cheering faces, attending the shows, buying the merchandise, watching the events and fueling the passion behind every promo and match. Without the fans, there is no WWE.
Every retiring star receives "thank you" chants, only to respond back with a "no, thank YOU" retort, because the people packing the seats and watching at home are the ultimate stabilizing force.
Maybe, instead of one anchor being, WWE is propped up by anchor beings, as all of us have our part to play in keeping professional wrestling alive.
