Former NXT Star Regrets Pulling Out Of All In To Sign With WWE
She had been initially announced for the event.
Former NXT star Deonna Purrazzo has expressed regret after choosing to sign with the WWE in 2018 despite being scheduled to perform at All In.
Purrazzo was one of the first female wrestlers announced to be competing on the event, but ultimately had to drop out, promoting Cody to tweet wishing her the best:
However, Purrazzo revealed on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast that she regrets not taking the current AEW TNT Champion's offer to compete at All In, and even believes that NXT signed her because she had been set to appear at the event:
"I 100 per cent feel like me being announced for All In… this culminated in, 'she's gonna go somewhere else and do something good with other people' so we're gonna bring her here. If they had done something with me, then that would have been fine. But I feel that in the last year or two with AEW, [WWE] tended to be hoarding. Talent wasn't being released but so much talent was being brought in that I suffered from so many women coming in and then we're all from the same background."
Despite being with the company for nearly two years she explained that she felt like an afterthought, and that her creative pitches largely fell on deaf ears.
In her last appearance in WWE, Purrazzo appeared on the April 6 raw in a losing effort to Nia Jax. She had previously reached the quarter-finals of the Mae Young Classic in 2018 before being eliminated by eventual runner-up Io Shirai.
Last month it was announced that Purrazzo would be one of several releases made by WWE due to cutbacks relating to the current global situation. However, at just 25-years-old she still has ample time to fulfil her massive potential elsewhere.
