Former WWE Champion Teases Return

Could he make a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble?

Former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam has teased a potential return to the ring on Twitter, according to Sportskeeda.

Van Dam last competed in WWE back in 2014, where he spent time feuding with Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship and putting over talent towards the end of his run with the company.

Whilst still wrestling on the independent scene, it was thought that a concussion he suffered in 2016 disqualified him from returning to WWE.

Nevertheless, a cryptic tweet sent out by RVD on Monday appears to suggest a possible return could be on the cards. When a fan enquired as to what The Whole F'n Show was up to nowadays as it was while since we last saw him in the mainstream, Van Dam responded, "You will soon..."

The former champ has previously hinted about a WWE comeback, stating in an interview with Sports Illustrated last September that it was always a possibility, and tweeting a few months ago that him returning was ultimately up to Triple H.

It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for RVD, as with WWE reiterating their shake-up this week, there's the possibility of him potentially taking on a GM or backstage role, appearing in the WrestleMania battle royal, or even making a surprise return at the Royal Rumble.
