Former WWE Star Signs With IMPACT Wrestling
This former WWE title holder pens a deal with IMPACT.
Having debuted for IMPACT Wrestling last October, Dirty Dango has now formally signed with the Anthem promotion.
As per PWInsider.com, the former Fandango has penned a deal with IMPACT, although no specifics are known right now in terms of how long the performer has committed to the promotion for.
The company debut for Dango came at Bound for Glory this past October, where he came up short against then-Digital Media Champion Brian Myers. That outing would be followed shortly by a win over Johnny Swinger, but it would take until January for the Boston native to resurface in IMPACT.
A one-time NXT Tag Team Champion, Dirty Dango is the latest ex-WWE name to sign with IMPACT Wrestling, with this signing coming hot on the heels of Santino Marella and Big Kon joining the organisation.
Dango was one of the countless talents released by WWE during the pandemic, with him and partner Tyler Breeze amongst those let go by the market leader in June 2021. The 39-year-old had been under the WWE banner as far back as 2006, initially working in the Deep South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling developmental territories. As Johnny Curtis, the star would be a part of NXT under its gameshow model and then when those letters were used to rebrand FCW.
Taking on a ballroom dancer gimmick and the Fandango moniker, 2013 saw the real-life Curtis Hussey thrown into the spotlight in a major way, most notably getting a WrestleMania 29 victory over Chris Jericho.
