Former WWE Star To Be At AEW All In?

Could this ex-WWE man have a role to play at AEW All In?

AEW All In Davey Boy Smith Jr.
AEW/NJPW

While all of the immediate attention is on AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door right now, Davey Boy Smith Jr. is a name who might have a presence at AEW's next PPV, All In.

As per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted how Davey Jr. is someone who could appear at All In if it's something AEW views as worthwhile.

Of course, the Calgary native's father is Davey Boy Smith, aka the British Bulldog, who famously headlined the last wrestling show to take place at Wembley Stadium. That show was WWE SummerSlam '92, where the Bulldog bested Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship in the main event.

Technically, the current Wembley Stadium is a different venue to the Wembley Stadium where SummerSlam took place - the original Wembley Stadium was knocked down in 2002 - but the sentiment remains that Wembley and wrestling immediately stirs up memories of the British Bulldog and Bret Hart.

As for Davey Boy Smith Jr., the real-life Harry Smith is nowadays a free agent. Having made his in-ring debut in 2000 at the age of just 15, the third-generation star has had notable runs with WWE, NJPW, Pro Wrestling NOAH, and MLW over the years. Most recently, Smith has returned to MLW to align himself with the Billington Bulldogs, Thomas and Mark Billington - the nephews of the Dynamite Kid.

The full Observer quote on AEW possibly using Davey Boy Smith Jr. at All In on 27 August reads:

"There’s been a lot of speculation regarding Davey Boy Smith Jr. and the Wembley Stadium show just for an appearance stemming back to the most famous match ever held in the stadium with his father beating his uncle, Bret Hart, for the IC title. As of this moment, he hasn’t been talked to about it. It’s basically if AEW thinks it’s something they want on the show."

So, while there haven't been any solid discussions on bringing in Smith Jr., it could well be something AEW opts to explore in the months leading up to All In later this summer.
