Former WWE Wrestler To Debut In AEW's Women's Tag Team Tournament
Another day, another ex-NXT wrestler showing up in AEW...
The recent trend of lesser-known NXT wrestlers switching to AEW has continued with news that Taynara Conti will be part of the group's upcoming Deadly Draw women's tag team tournament.
Chris Jericho broke the news during the most recent episode of his Saturday Night Special series on YouTube, with the Brazilian seemingly set to team with Anna Jay, who re-emerged as a member of the Dark Order on last week's episode of Dynamite. Jay had previous been escorted away from an AEW ring by the cult after a hard loss to Abadon.
Conti left WWE as part of the promotion's mass cuts on 15 April.
Other confirmed pairings include The Nightmare Sisters of Allie and Brandi Rhodes, Nyla Rose and Ariane (formerly WWE's Cameron), and Ivelisse and Diamante. No other participants have been announced yet though the likes of Big Swole and Penelope Ford appeared in the original announcement vignette.
The Deadly Draw will kick off in some shape or form tonight. It goes down on AEW's YouTube channel, though there's no word if today's broadcast will feature matches or more information on the teams, with wrestlers seemingly paired together via a random draw.
