Former X Division Champion Returns At IMPACT Wrestling Tapings (SPOILERS)
The former champion will face Josh Alexander on an upcoming IMPACT Wrestling broadcast.
IMPACT Wrestling's latest television tapings saw Jake Crist return to the company after over a year away.
IMPACT Asylum has posted complete spoilers from this week's tapings, with day two seeing Crist answering Josh Alexander's open challenge. Crist eventually sucumbed to 'The Walking Weapon', taking a C4Spike to end the bout. The match will air on a future episode of IMPACT Wrestling, presumably in September.
Jake was released by IMPACT in December 2020, bringing an end to his three-year tenure in the Anthem-helmed promotion. There, he held the X Division Championship and the World Tag Team Championships alongside his disgraced brother Dave.
Prior to his release, Jake - then wrestling as Jacob Crist in the Cancel Culture stable - last competed on the 9 June broadcast, defeating Crazzy Steve. He was subsequently pulled from television alongside Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes in the midst of their stable leader Joey Ryan being named in the #SpeakingOut movement.
During an interview with Fightful earlier this year, Crist noted that the door was always open for him to return to the IMPACT Zone. As of this writing, it's currently unclear whether this is a full-time comeback, though.
