8. Ring Of Honor - Dalton Castle

Braun Strowman Universal Champ
ROH

Sometimes, even full immersion into an outlandish gimmick fails to make it anything but ridiculous. Not so in the case of one Dalton Castle. His commitment to his flamboyant, theatrical character has made him a reliable slice of pure entertainment on Ring of Honor programming.

Boasting legitimate wrestling credentials, Castle possesses the pedigree to make a surge up the ROH ladder. Flanked by 'The Boys,' he has the ROH faithful lighting up any time he steps foot in the ring.

The ROH Championship currently sits around the waist of Cody (formerly Rhodes). His appearance at NJPW's G1 Specials shows that his move to the independents has not been universally welcomed. Castle, born of the indie wrestling scene, therefore provides a natural adversary to the WWE alumni.

Ring of Honor neglected to pull the trigger on Castle at Supercard of Honor, which could end up being a wise move. With the likes of Bobby Fish, Adam Cole, and Kyle O'Reilly leaving the promotion, there is not a lot of babyface depth beyond Castle, Daniels, and Jay Lethal.

ROH need to continue to cultivate Dalton Castle and The Boys as a crowd-pleasing act, and if they do that, Castle could be the man to topple Cody.
