Jeff Cobb has quickly become one of indie wrestling's beloved stars. A former Olympic wrestler, fans can't get enough of his rare combination of strength and athleticism. He came to fame through his casting as Matanza Cueto, Lucha Underground's resident masked psychopath.

Outside of LU, Cobb wrestles as himself; a superior athlete, but more teddy bear than maniac. His exploits have brought him to indie companies like Evolve, PROGRESS, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

PWG has become an indie wrestling hotspot, with the best global talent seeking a match at their Reseda venue. Though their fans love a high-risk spot-fest, they have welcomed Cobb with open arms. The way he is able to overpower and rag-doll opponents of all sizes has gotten him over hugely with the PWG faithful.

As with so many of PWG's top stars, it cannot be taken for granted that Cobb won't have piqued the interest of WWE by now. Either way, hopefully he will continue blowing up the indie scene. Currently entered in this year's Battle of Los Angeles, Cobb is the favourite amongst many to win it all.

Even if he doesn't, his popularity means he will continually be brought back to PWG. With his wrestling caliber, their World Championship should be within Cobb's reach.
