GLOW Season 2: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

3. Ruth/Zoya The Destroyer

GLOW Ruth Alison Brie
Netflix

Alison Brie's Ruth was our entry point into this show last year and, although she takes the tiniest of steps back in order to let the spotlight fall on Debbie, she's still very much at the heart of things this time around, with Brie once again effortlessly likeable and charming, enjoying great chemistry with co-leads Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin.

Brie gets to find some great emotional range as well though, with storylines around sexual harassment and with all the pain of her friendship and fallout with Debbie coming to the fore. There's a sense of yearning and frustration to the character that Brie sells perfectly, making you feel everything she does, but always balanced with fun and humour too.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
