Goldberg's 10 Best Moments Ever

1. Goldberg Vs. Hogan

Okay, for starters, Eric Bischoff booking Goldberg vs. Hulk Hogan with only four days advance on an episode of Nitro, and not on pay-per-view, was a massive, massive mistake. It cost WCW millions of dollars for not putting it on a major show, and it jumped quite a few chapters in Goldberg’s rise to the top story. But with that all said, it capped off a pretty amazing night.

Over 36,000 fans came to the Georgia Dome to see the epic fight. But Hogan thought it might not even get that far. He had the returning Scott Hall first battle Goldberg earlier in the show, but The Outsider was unable to pick up the win, or even do much damage. That left Hogan on his own. There was nowhere to run.

When Goldberg came out for the main event it was electric. The pop he received rivalled Austin's best, as they knew they were watching something historic. The fight between the two was pretty unspectacular, but much like Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, or Hogan vs. The Rock at 'Mania X8, they didn’t need to do much. Every single move they performed was met with a huge reaction.

After less than 10 minutes of action, Goldberg picked up the victory after hoisting up Hogan for the Jackhammer. It felt like the beginning of a new era.

While the follow-up was lacking, and the build was virtually non-existent, it remains one of the most exciting matches of the Monday Night Wars.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
