Goldberg's 10 Best Moments Ever

5. Goldberg Debuts On Raw

In 2003, we had been hearing rumors of Goldberg signing with WWE, but had no idea when he’d actually show up. At WrestleMania XIX, it was officially announced he would be joining the company soon. We only had to wait one more night to see him.

The Rock was hot off his victory against Steve Austin from the night before, and his arrogance was at an all-time high. This was actually an era for him where he could be booed, and it was a blast to watch. He had a Rock Appreciation Night scheduled for himself, but was quite unhappy that the crowd wasn’t showing him the adulation that he felt he deserved.

Rocky ended up being too too cocky, as he bragged about being able to beat every top superstar, and then coming to the realization that he was done with the entire business. He soon drew the ire of Goldberg, who emerged from the back with his classic music accompanying him. He had his sights set directly for the Hollywood star. They briefly circled each other in the ring before Goldberg had just two lines for him: “So Rock, you want to know who’s next? You’re next!” and then quickly shot at him with a spear.

It was a surreal sight, and it set up a huge dream match the following month. It was the first big moment of Goldberg's WWE run, and with the possible exception of his most recent homecoming, it has remained the best.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
