Social media is a hotbed for negativity, so it's no shocker some hit X to blast WWE for the 2024 Royal Rumble matches. Those folks don't know how good they've got it. Some would've been around to see it, but the younger demo who weren't really need to check out the 1995 version via WWE Network/Peacock before that vanishes.

The entire match was a brutal watch.

Vince McMahon and pals were so low on the roster that they dropped gaps between entrants to one minute. The WWF just didn't have the star power to keep an hour long 30-man match interesting, so they wanted to sprint through the thing as soon as possible. That was a shrewd decision.

Shawn Michaels winning was a memorable moment, of course, but the rest of the 38-minute melee was hellish. Entrants like Timothy Well, Steven Dunn, Aldo Montoya, Mantaur and a past-his-prime Dick Murdoch (#27!) made it hard not to realise how paper-thin the WWF's locker room was in January '95.
