HORRIBLE Matches WWE Forced On Fans

2. The “Country Whipping” Disaster

WWE Extreme Rules 2011 Country Whipping Match Jim Ross Michael Cole Jerry Lawler Jack Swagger

If anyone needs evidence of how crap WWE's attitude towards women's wrestling was pre-2015 revolution, then take a gander at Extreme Rules 2011. There, a well-built "Loser Leaves Town" match between ex-pals Layla and Michelle McCool was handed a measly five minutes. Meanwhile, this abomination got approx seven.

Curtain to curtain, including entrances, this "Country Whipping" nonsense hoovered up approx 15-20 minutes of pay-per-view time. Yes, yes people were asked to pay for Jim Ross smacking Michael Cole's behind with a leather strap. "Sports Entertainment", pal. We make movies!

JR teamed with Jerry Lawler vs. Cole and Jack Swagger in a tag-team contest so foul it made Lawler vs. Cole from WrestleMania XXVII look like a five-star classic. OK, maybe not, but you get the point. Ross himself has chuckled at WWE's decision-making since, because even he knew he had no business being inside the ring on PPV this long.

Being honest, the iconic announcer had no business being in the ring on PPV at all.
