How AEW Will Deliver The Biggest (And BEST) Wrestling Show EVER In 2024

Will Ospreay Revolution

While AEW undoubtedly went out of its way to give its largely British audience the hometown hero victories they were always going to lap up at All In 2023, they have the chance to go one better in a few months time.

Will Ospreay's showdown with Chris Jericho was excellent - because any match containing 'The Aerial Assassin' and a veteran like Jericho was always going to be. But the 'Billy Goat's win that night still wasn't one of those emotional and powerful moments that will be replayed in All Elite highlight packages for years to come, was it?

If the promotion continues to build and present the best wrestler on the planet as the likeable and must-see top name he has been since joining AEW, though, there's every chance Ospreay goes on to lift the big one inside of tens of thousands at Wembley.

That kind of result, and inevitable high-quality match that has become the norm for AEW's undisputed MVP, are the sort of things that can turn a great PPV into an all-timer.

But why stop there?

Should the mighty Jamie Hayter finally be back to full fitness by then, having this adored Brit blast through a Mercedes Mone under the brightest of lights would be another spectacular treat.

PAC, a star who unfortunately missed out last year due to injury, too, will also be champing at the bit to put on a brutal show in his home country, and booking him to throw down in a gripping rematch against an Okada or Omega here is another epic tap in just waiting to be kicked by Khan.

And while we're at it, if you really want to produce a moment capable of shaking a stadium's foundations, then give WhatCulture's own Simon Miller some more well-earned screen-time. Why? Because who doesn't want to see him get his revenge on Will Hobbs, eh?

The aforementioned McGuinness lacing up his boots for the first time in a decade-plus would be a lovely touch, too, especially after the Londoner came so close to returning at last year's event, only for 'Clamdigger' Bryan to go down injured before their planned fight.

It's not just the sight of AEW's British stars getting their moments in front of their hometown that will properly elevate this potential megashow, however. Really taking the time to tell a few more detailed and compelling stories involving clear villains and heroes coming into the show would also set the stage for a night to remember.

AEW will always possess the talent to produce magnificent one-off displays at any event. But it's those matches that were built on enthralling on-screen Elite drama, deeply personal issues, and stories you simply could not look away from that helped create some of this promotion's truly classic nights.

Looking at 2024 so far, though, things at least seem promising for the incoming stadium extravaganza...
