Huge Match Confirmed NXT Great American Bash

NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai will officially face Women's Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks on this week's NXT Great American Bash special.

Banks called out the current champ in a video on Twitter yesterday, stating that 'rent's due, Boo Boo, and it's time to collect.' Shirai eventually replied with her own clip, saying Banks and Bayley were 'more than welcome to come to my NXT again'.

Now, NXT General Manager William Regal has confirmed on Twitter that the match will indeed take place on night one of the two week black and yellow brand extravaganza.

As Regal notes, the match will be a non-title bout. However, if 'The Boss' finds a way to overcome 'The Genius of the Sky', could we see her challenge for the belt in the near future? With current SmackDown Women's and co-Women's Tag Champion Bayley at ringside, anything is possible.

Last time all three stars were on the same show, Shirai attacked the 'Boss 'n' Hug Connection' and blew away the NXT alumni in the wake of their successful Women's Tag Championship defence against Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart.
