If WWE.com Was Being Honest: 5 Articles That Deserve New Titles

5. This Rivalries Story

What the article is called: "5 Rivalries That Need A Redo"

What it should be called: "5 Reasons We Really Want You To Think The Impending Miz vs. John Cena Feud Is Something You Want To See"

On 10 Feb. the main story on WWE.com was "5 Rivalries that Absolutely Need a Redo." Clicking on the link brings you to a video (leave the wrestling video lists to the pros!). The promoted image and first entry (they don't actually count down) is John Cena and The Miz. Huh. That seems pretty random. Was that on most fan's minds for feuds they wanted to see again? I wonder why they chose that...

Oh yeah, out of nowhere, WWE began strongly considering booking a WrestleMania match with John Cena and Nikki Bella teaming up against The Miz and Maryse. This match, of course, involves two of the WrestleMania 27 main-eventers. And if you recall, that feud and match royally sucked. Miz was years away from hitting his stride, and he wasn’t treated as an actual threat to the almighty Cena. It was more about building towards The Rock and John Cena THE FOLLOWING YEAR!

The video takes a kayfabe point of view by putting over Cena losing the WrestleMania match, which is why they apparently need another one. Never mind the fact that Cena beat the s**t out of Miz on multiple occasions afterwards, to the point that he looked like a virtual jobber. Also disregard the fact that Miz can't currently beat Dean Ambrose or even Dolph Ziggler without cheating, so what chance in hell does he and his non-wrestler of a wife have against WWE's biggest power couple? WWE.com is trying to get you to believe this is what the world needs. No thanks.

Also, the countdown listed Hunter and Goldberg, Reigns and Lesnar and...Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton? Hmmm...no, I think we’re fine without that last one as well.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
