Having accompanied Nic Nemeth to the ring at TNA Border Brawl over the weekend, could Barbie Blank, aka Kelly Kelly, have a more regular TNA role in her future? The answer's yes, if Nemeth gets his way...

We recently sat down and grabbed some time with Nic and Ryan Nemeth, the current TNA Tag Team Champions, to talk all things TNA and beyond. And on the back of Barbie Blank's surprise cameo at Border Brawl, where Nic took on Santino Marella in a flag match as part of the USA vs. Canada theme of the event, we asked the former TNA World Champion about the chances of Barbie joining the Anthem promotion as part of the Hollywood Heels.

On being able to catch up with the former WWE Divas Champion and seeing her embrace a heel role at the show, Nemeth said:

"As I was out there [in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada], I had a couple of hours with her during the day because she’s an old friend. We met a long time ago. We’ve been buddies for freakin’ 15 years. She looks great, by the way. She still gets it. She had so much fun, and it was fun to watch her. We were embracing being in Canada and embracing the USA. And it was fun to watch her react and the fans, because she’s usually forever drooled over and applauded because she’s Barbie Blank and Kelly Kelly. So, it was nice to see her jaw-jacking and letting everybody know that she could still go and she could back her stuff up."

Discussing the chances of Barbie Blank joining TNA, Nic continued:

"So, as the entire day went on, I said, ‘You know, you wouldn’t mind coming to do TNA a little bit every once in a while? You could be in our corner, you could help make matches, you could take Santino’s spot [as TNA's Director of Authority], because I don’t care, I don’t think he should be in it. So, how about this? How about this scenario? How about this one?’ Since I got home, I’ve been sending some texts. ‘Have you given any thought to it? Maybe we could bring you in?’ So, I’m buttering her up as much as I can. She does not need to work - she’s a mother, she’s got it all figured out - but I feel like I could see it in her eyes, she was having a lot of fun the other night. And maybe, just maybe, we could get her over to TNA. It’s just another sparkly diamond to put on that necklace to let everybody know, ‘Hey, come check this show out.’"

Barbie Blank To TNA?

Could Barbie Blank/Kelly Kelly to TNA really happen? From what Nic Nemeth says, the chances seem slim but not impossible. If nothing else, Nic is certainly trying his best to convince Barbie to take on some sort of role within TNA, even if only a sporadic one.

Kelly recently signed a WWE Legends deal prior to WrestleMania 41, with many fans speculating that that could lead to a WWE Hall of Fame induction for the Florida native. While she's popped up for a handful of appearances in the years since, Kelly Kelly was with WWE from 2006 - signing at just 19 years of age - through until 2012, when she left to deal with a neck injury and to explore other ventures. Kelly last wrestled for the market leader in the 2022 women's Royal Rumble, which itself followed appearances in the 2018 and 2020 Rumbles, plus she was part of a 20-woman Battle Royal at WWE Evolution.

With WWE Evolution 2 now confirmed for this July, Kelly Kelly is one of the names of yesteryear that fans are hoping will appear in some form or fashion, especially with her now under a Legends deal. As for that Legends deal, that means that WWE can produce Kelly merchandise, she may appear in future video games, and there's a chance of her being one of the talking heads seen on the various WWE documentaries and productions.
