IMPACT Wrestling Change Rebellion Date To 25 April

Kenny Omega vs. Rich Swann is just too historic for a Saturday evening.

IMPACT Wrestling's upcoming Rebellion pay-per-view on Saturday, 24 April has now been changed to Sunday, 25 April, per a company announcement late on Wednesday evening.

The promotion's reasoning for changing the date is due to Sunday nights being the traditional night for wrestling pay-per-views. All Elite Wrestling switched their pay-per-view dates to Sundays beginning with this month's Revolution, with WWE's being on Sundays for as long as this writer can remember.

IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore had the following to say on the matter:-

Sunday night has traditionally been the night for the big wrestling events in the sport’s history – and Rebellion is as huge of an event as any of them. Swann vs. Omega, champion vs. champion, title vs. title is a happening that every wrestling fan will want to witness…it just feels right that Rebellion takes place on Sunday.

Already confirmed for the event is FinJuice returning from Japan to defend the World Tag Team Championships against former champs The Good Brothers, and Kenny Omega vs. Rich Swann for both the AEW and IMPACT World Championships. It was also confirmed last night that Ace Austin's X Division Championship, Deonna Purrazzo's Knockouts Championship, and Fire N Flava's Knockouts Tag Team Championships will also be defended.
