IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Eddie Edwards Vs. W. Morrissey

Result: Morrissey Powerbombed Eddie for the win after using a studded belt buckle behind the referee's back (11:00).

Rating: IMPACT Wrestling is doing some wonderful work with W. Morrissey at the moment.

They aren't afraid to take a risk on the former Big Cass, as has been proved by them putting him over strongly against former champions. Eddie Edwards' name now joins a list also featuring Rich Swann and Willie Mack; needless to say, Morrissey is in safe hands under IMPACT's watchful eye.

Eddie helped Morrissey get over with the Skyway Studios audience, too, selling his offence superlatively to get the seven-footer positioned as a legitimate beast in the company. The way he flopped to the ground after being Chokeslammed on the apron was the best sell for such a high-risk manoeuvre. Your body wouldn't contort in freakishly sick fashion from such a spot because you're in shock with the pain. The ring apron is, after all, The Hardest Part Of The Ring™.

It was crucial that Eddie got in some decent moves as well, which he did via a neat Blue Thunder Bomb, but this was all about raising the stock of W. Morrissey. He moves forward looking unstoppable. Of the current IMPACT roster, Eddie Edwards is hardly going to suffer from a marquee pay-per-view loss. 7/10
