Jeff Hardy Referenced On AEW Dynamite

An "erratic" Hardy hopping the rail and bailing on a match, you say?

While some speculated that Jeff Hardy may be the one to arrive on last night's AEW Dynamite as Tony Khan's much-hyped new signing, it seems as if the Charismatic Enigma was at least referenced on this latest outing for AEW's flagship show.

For those who missed it, Keith Lee was the debutant who turned up to best Isiah Kassidy and earn a place in the Face of the Revolution ladder match at 6 March's AEW Revolution PPV. Limitless was rumoured for that spot ever since Khan announced last week that a major signing would be revealed on Dynamite, with Lee joined by Jeff Hardy, Killer Kross, John Morrison, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada and even Shane McMahon amongst the slew of names stirred up in the rumour mill to become #AllElite.

Suggesting that Hardy may soon by on his way to All Elite Wrestling, though, a Tony Schiavone commentary line was seemingly a reference to the two-time WWE Champion.

So frustrated with Kassidy's performance against Keith Lee, Matt Hardy opted to bail on the match, hopping the guardrail and heading to the back. As this happened, Schiavone referred to Matt's behaviour as "erratic".

How does this tie to Jeff Hardy? Well, Jeff was released by WWE shortly after he walked out on a six-man match during a non-televised live event. Deciding to jump over the guardrail, Hardy left that contest and headed through the crowd. Soon after, the company would release him after making Jeff take a drug test.

As detailed by Matt Hardy during a recent Twitch steam, that drug test came back negative, with WWE criticising Jeff's "erratic behaviour" and arguably jumping the gun on releasing him. So, the "erratic" description, a Hardy hopping the rail mid-match? Some are putting these things together and taking them as a nice wink to Matt's brother Jeff.

For those wondering, Jeff Hardy will officially become a free agent as of 10 March. Could we be seeing the Hardy Boyz vs. Private Party in a month's time? It's certainly something that seems likely right now.
