Jerry Lawler 'It's Good To Be The King' DVD Review: 17 Interesting Observations
3. Turning Down The Hall Of Fame
The documentary skips a whole load as just after King's return to the WWE is dealt with, he says: "And then, I get a call from Vince McMahon and he says 'we're going to put you in the Hall of Fame." Considering King went into the Hall in 2007... Six years, give or take, skipped in an instant. Not one of the DVD's finer moments. Initially, King rejected the offer as he saw it as WWE putting him into retirement. He still wanted to compete in the ring. However, Vince won him over by reassuring him his days in the ring weren't over and claimed it was more of a celebration of all he'd achieved in the business. It was rather fitting that Jim Ross went into the Hall in the same class as Jerry. After all, the pair are arguably the greatest announce team the business has ever seen.
