Jim Ross Is Not Dead!

JR has refuted news of his passing, after falling victim to a malicious social media prank.

Legendary WWE play-by-play announcer Jim Ross took to social media to deny rumours of his death, after falling victim to a malicious social media prank - one apparently carried out by fans of English football club Leeds United. A post sent out from JR's (now deleted) Twitter account read: 'We are shocked and saddened to bring you the news that Jim Ross has sadly passed away. Long time friend @WhiteLeedsSite was with him at the time of his passing and it was said to be a very peaceful. We will be making a further statement shortly.' This was followed by several tweets containing the lyrics of 'Marching On Together', an anthem of Leeds United FC. Thankfully, Ross put fans' worries at ease with a post from a new account, @jimrossj1, stating: 'I am NOT dead. Someone hacked me. Working on who did this'. The prank initially sparked a great deal of worry among wrestling fans, and JR's name was even trending for a few hours after the incident. He is yet to speak out further on the incident, save for a follow-up tweet repeating the message. No updates have been posted on his official site, JRsBarBQ.com. Both Ross' original account and @WhiteLeedsSite - the handle mentioned in the original hoax tweet - are currently down.
