Jim Ross Shoots On Steve Austin's WWE WrestleMania 38 Return

What does AEW man JR think about 'Stone Cold' returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38?

Jim Ross told listeners on his 'Grilling JR' podcast that close friend Steve Austin "didn’t sound overwhelmingly enthusiastic" about working a full-blown match at WWE's WrestleMania 38.

The AEW announcer spoke to 'Stone Cold' recently, and Austin was still clueless about exactly what WWE wanted to do with him. That, according to JR, doesn't suit Steve's "perfectionist" approach. The iconic commentator believes Austin would've liked ample time to train, prepare and build towards a blow off match.

Jim also went on to say that his good buddy "doesn’t like surprises".

It looks like 'Stone Cold' will appear on Kevin Owens 'KO Show' rather than properly wrestling at 'Mania - WWE might've left it a little too late to sway the legend into working a match, or he didn't think Owens was the right fit for his comeback performance.

On that, Ross suggested that Austin would want "to hand pick his opponent". In fact, as JR added, "Why wouldn’t you let him hand pick his opponent?". This is all very curious, but it does seem like Steve will be working a promo/Stunner spot on the big weekender instead of going bell-to-bell.
