WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that viral star Joe Hendry is expected to earn a spot on the SmackDown roster going forwards. The charismatic Scot beat longstanding veteran The Miz in a comedic 'Miracle On 34th Street Fight' during Friday's pre-taped episode of blue brand action.

Their bout was taped on 19 December, and it included all of the hijinks fans have come to expect from such festive-themed brawls. Hendry had members of Alpha Academy in his corner, and a bunny even beheaded (sort of) to reveal that R-Truth was wearing the outfit.

That could well be something to keep a beady eye on - this isn't the first time that Hendry and Truth have interacted together on WWE TV. Could they be about to become the company's next odd couple tag-team in the new year? Don't rule it out.

Miz bumped around like a pro and did everything he could to make Hendry look like the man. WrestleVotes via Fightful noted that "there have been internal discussions about Joe Hendry getting a main roster call-up, with Smackdown being his permanent home". Even more impressively, they're reporting that top brass at the USA Network actually requested Joe go on SmackDown rather than Raw.

They wanted him to play a part in the show's jump to 3 hours starting with the 2 January 2026 broadcast. That's a very good sign for Hendry's imminent future.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp had previously reported that the former TNA Champion was already on a main roster level deal with WWE. Things are looking good if you believe in Joe Hendry.
