John Cena has assured WWE fans that they can anticipate "more unpredictability" as WrestleMania 41 approaches.

Speaking to People, the recently-turned Number One Contender to Cody Rhodes' WWE Championship offered the note when pushed about what was still to come between the two ahead of the 'Show Of Shows'. He said;

"I'm going to say that there's more unpredictability on the way...We're in the middle of a very riveting season of episodic television, and you are kindly asking me to give you spoilers, and I can't do that. What I did really enjoy about your question is you expressed the unpredictability of WWE programming, and I think that’s one strong point of the current state of WWE - its unpredictability in its programming."

The road to WrestleMania 41 has been all of that, to say the least, for Cena. At Elimination Chamber, he shocked the wrestling world by turning heel for the first time in 22 years, aligning with The Rock to attack Rhodes.

A series of face-offs between the two has since followed, and the tension escalated further during the March 31st episode of WWE Raw at London's O2 Arena. The show opened with a face-to-face confrontation between the two superstars that saw Cena criticising Rhodes for being a glorified fan masquerading as a champion, amongst other badly-acted Cena-isms that nonetheless went over huge with the live crowd. Rhodes responded by acknowledging Cena as his hero but then called him a "piece of s**t" (amongst other things) leading to a physical altercation where Rhodes delivered the Cross Rhodes, leaving Cena laid out in the ring. It was to be their last physical interaction before WrestleMania, though Cena's comments imply that there could be more to look forward to.

The pair will headline Night Two of the show on April 20th.
