Sheamus went into the 2010 edition of Night of Champions as the WWE Champion. He had five other guys to face-off against in this elimination style six-pack challenge, including John Cena. Sheamus' two WWE Title wins have come due to defeating Cena, so there was plenty of history between the two going into this.

Like the 2007 multi-man match, WWE did a surprisingly good job at keeping what could've been a very convoluted bout simple. The double teams pretty much always fell to the traditional heel/face dividing lines. Cena and Orton had many stare-downs, but as the crowd favorites they mainly worked together.

Later in the match, Barrett's Nexus buddies interfered causing Wade to eliminate Cena. When it looked like they were going to turn their attention to Randy next, John brought a steel chair into the fight and took out several of Wade's friends.

The final two were Orton and Sheamus. The Irishman eventually succumbed to an RKO, giving Randy his seventh WWE title win.

Even though Cena bowed out during the final few minutes of this match, this was a better bout than the one at the 2007 event. The Chicago crowd was hot and Cena played an integral role in Orton's title win.
