Jon Moxley has called his Death Riders faction "the most ambitious s*** [he's] ever done in [his] career - in [his] life, really". Speaking to Justin Barrasso's Undisputed/Extra Mustard, the AEW star revealed that he wants the group to around for the long haul. Explaining, Mox said that "there's no immediate payoff", and that this process "takes years" to perfect.

He's determined to bring the best out in peers like Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir with fellow veterans such as Claudio Castagnoli and PAC by his side. Summing it up so far, Moxley added: "I'm so proud of these people". That's my team, and I'm so proud of them".

AEW introduced The Death Riders in September 2024. Previously, Moxley, Claudio and Yuta had been part of the Blackpool Combat Club, but this new offshoot split them away from Bryan Danielson to build something new. It's been a polarising experience thus far amongst pro wrestling fans. Some like what Jon and troops are doing, whereas others on social media believe it's strangling the All Elite product.

Bad news for those folks: The Riders won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

At time of writing, Moxley and Hangman Page haven't worked their AEW World Title rematch on Dynamite. That happens on the 30 July episode, and it comes hot on the heels of a 'Texas Deathmatch' that saw Hangman win the belt from Mox at All In Texas. Boss Tony Khan will be hoping that a rematch of that calibre brings in some eyeballs for his flagship show.

Moxley Adopts A "Regal Mindset"

During the interview with Barrasso, Moxley's core mindset was revealed. He credits old BCC leader and mentor William Regal for it. Basically, Jon's outlook can be summarised with one statement: "There's still plenty more for me to learn". He says he'll never stop learning, but it doesn't need to be overwhelming.

"Focus on the one thing that can be improved on. We love that part of it", he explained.

This is something that Regal taught Mox earlier in his career, and it's been standing the former WWE star in good stead ever since. He rocketed to the top of WWE with The Shield and then became a champion on his own, but Jon (as Dean Ambrose) soon soured on Vince McMahon's creative processes and left the company in 2019.

Jumping to AEW, he's become a 4-time World Champion under Tony Khan's watch. Now, his full focus is on ensuring The Death Riders proves to be a long-term success everyone under the promotional banner can be proud of. At one point during the chat, he called that stable "an evolving thing" and said, "Dripping water hollows out stones".

So, again and in short, The Death Riders could be part of All Elite's product for a long, long time to come.
