He always delivers, even when put into plainly terrible story lines and matches. He survived being an evil dentist, teaming up with Hurricane and even unmasking. He's a utility player, and is always credible as a world champion when you need someone to carry the belt for a while. He'll never be a number one guy in the company, but that's okay, because he does his job better than anyone. But it would take the touch of powers higher than we know to make Gene Snitsky a credible performer. 2004 was not a great year for Kane, being put into terrible romance storyline and matches. Snitsky had caused Lita to have a miscarriage, launching the two of them into a bitter feud that escalated at Taboo Tuesday in a steel chain match. Not only is the match just legitimately terrible because of how awful Snitsky was, but it also goes on for far too long. A match like this is 6-8 minutes tops. This thing goes on for about 15 minutes. Outrageous. The Big Red Machine did eventually get his revenge on Snitsky, but there can be no denying how truly hideous this match is. Kane deserved a better 2004, and working this match was certainly not the way to do it.
