We get it: Kane had just suffered a legit injury, and WWE needed a way of taking him off screen for a short while - but was having him get beaten up by the New World Order really the way to do it?
The 'Big Red Machine' has got up from being kicked into a burning dumpster and being sent flying into a production truck inside a limousine, yet this - a chair attack - of all things was what was supposed to have left him in need of EMT attention and then keep him sidelined for months.
It just wasn't right for such a monstrous character, and because X-Pac made off with his mask, it was also the last time we saw Kane in his original, badass attire.
