5. The Hurricane

Another mask, another tag team partner, another tag team championship. On 23 September 2002, Kane teamed up with The Hurricane to defeat the Un-Americans (Lance Storm and Christian) to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. This was Kane's seventh tag title reign up to this point.

I'm at something of a loss to recall why these two were teaming together, other than the assumption that it was a further attempt to humanise Kane, and also to increase the popularity of the recently introduced Hurricane.

They didn't hold the titles for long at all, their reign coming to an end after just 21 days. Still, those 21 days included RAW's match of the year for 2002, a four-way TLC match that Kane won all on his own.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
