Karrion Kross returned to WWE NXT for the first time in three months last night, blasting former North American Champion Damian Priest to seemingly kickstart a new storyline.

Priest was ambushed while making his entrance to interrupt an in-ring segment from Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, and Austin Theory, following up on his Triple Threat loss to Gargano at TakeOver: WarGames 2020. Kross trucked the poor guy, put him through a table, then got out of the Capitol Wrestling Center, joining Scarlett in a car and driving off.

This came following a confrontation between Scarlett, Priest, and Finn Balor earlier in the night. Damian had staked his claim for a shot at Finn Balor's NXT Championship in the opening segment. When Scarlett appeared, Balor said he was ready to put the belt that Kross was forced to relinquish through injury on the line against the big man, with Priest jabbing Karrion for waiting in the car while Scarlett "handled his business."

Kross' NXT return was teased in a short vignette at TakeOver last weekend. He had suffered a suspected separated shoulder while wrestling Keith Lee at TakeOver: XXX, the night he captured the NXT Title.
