Kevin Owens: 5 Potential Rivalries For The WWE Intercontinental Champion
3. Neville
Neville has yet to be thrown into a big-time rivalry in WWE. His work with Stardust has been entertaining, and the stuff involving both men alongside The Ascension and The Lucha Dragons has been very fun to watch, but it doesn’t necessarily do much for Neville’s long-term status as a legitimate threat to any title picture.
His best moments on the roster thus far have come in somewhat random matches. He had impromptu bouts with Kevin Owens for the NXT Title, John Cena for the United States Title and Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, each of which showcased him as one of the most exciting members of the WWE roster.
Now that Owens is holding the Intercontinental Championship, it would make a lot of sense for him to enter a feud with an old foe of his, ‘The New Sensation’ himself, Neville. Their encounters from both Raw and NXT were PPV-worthy, and could easily steal an event like Hell in a Cell or TLC if given the opportunity.
It would also show Neville in a different light, as an opposing force with an eye on the prize, rather than a simple spot monkey. I think we’d all like to see more of the Neville we saw during his NXT Championship reign, and giving the man a reason to compete would do that nicely.
