4. Cesaro

Kevin Owens is already fresh off a feud with Cesaro that ran through SummerSlam, producing one of the best matches of the night, but I don’t think anyone would be sad to see them go at it again. Owens and Cesaro have immense chemistry between the ropes, and it would only benefit both men to have them battle with the Intercontinental Championship on the line.

Cesaro’s popularity is still at an all-time high, but it’s safe to say his momentum has been dwindling fast ever since SummerSlam. His matches are always a thrill, and his bouts with John Cena, Rusev and Owens himself during the Owens/Cena rivalry for the United States Championship were very fun to watch.

I think it’s only right to reward him with this title match against an opponent he’s guaranteed to tear the house down with.

This would be a great early-reign rivalry for Owens, because should he retain the gold against Cesaro, he’d quickly establish himself as a worthy champion. That victory over Ryback was far from a fluke, and to prove it against such a talented competitor like Cesaro would help get the championship back over as a prestigious and honourable one.
