Former NXT Champion Killer (Karrion) Kross had a number of interesting remarks to make about his time with the WWE and indeed a possible future with AEW and beyond in a recent chat with the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast.

Speaking about the face-to-face that saw him verbally decimated by the former Undisputed Era leader, Cole noted h/t to PostWrestling);

“I mean, I got the promo the day before, 24 hours before...So, when I got to work that day, they were like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s not finished’ and I was like, ‘Okay, cool. I have some stuff I’d like to say’ and it was basically my rebuttal was pretty much the opposite of what he had said to me, which was something of the nature like, ‘Well, you need guys like me to make these people believe in you because there’s 17 year old kids in the audience the same size as you that can beat the living sh*t out of you in a legitimate fight so, when you’re saying this company makes me feel special, I make these people believe in you because without me, there would be no Adam Cole. You’d be in line at Dunkin’ Donuts with everybody else,’ you know what I mean? And they were like, ‘… You can’t say that’ and I was like, ‘Well what the f*ck? Why not?’ And they were like, ‘Well, you know, he’s been doing favors for people. He put Keith over and then he went under in the Fatal 4’ and something’s wrong with his wrist or something. I don’t remember. He had hurt his wrist at the time or something and then he did the thing with Pat [McAfee] and they were like, ‘We need him in the Fatal 5-Way [at NXT TakeOver: In Your House] because we’re gonna lose you soon and we’d like you to go over clean on everybody so you have clean kills on everybody going up. So this promo’s really for him to look strong’ and I was like, ‘No problem,’ you know what I mean? I’m killing these guys in the ring, I’m undefeated, I have the belt. It’s TV, it’s fiction. It’s a script so I was like, ‘Let him go for it."

On following Cole and some other NXT alumni to AEW and chatting with Tony Khan, Kross added;

"There was a story that leaked recently about me being in conversations with Tony Khan and AEW. Like, some conversations are meant to be private and I like the guy. I’m not gonna go out there and discuss what was said but, there’s a lot of people that upon getting that phone call would just take his money and maybe they’re in a position where they absolutely have to. I’m not gonna do that to him. I have too much respect for him and the place and my friends that work there to just take the money and come in and do something that I am absolutely certain in that conversation is less than what I’m actually capable of doing for him and with everybody else. I’d rather be upfront and honest and just say I think that this idea or this concept would be better suited for somebody else. I know what I can do and I’m not interested in doing anything less than my best work and it’s like I told you, I’m not in this to do this to set myself up for retirement. It’s not why I’m doing this. I’m doing this because I love it so, I wanna be engaged and really care and be able to feel and know that when people see that I’m gonna be involved in doing something, that it’s gonna be, you know, my best work so, I don’t wanna be pigeonholed by anything so, I’d definitely be interested and open to working there but, in the right setting under the right circumstances.

Kross last wrestled in May in a mixed tag match alongside real life wife Scarlett for ACW in Wisconsin, having defeated Yuya Uemura on edition of NJPW Strong days earlier.
