You remember in the intro where I said that there was more to a great match than what happens from bell to bell? Well this encapsulate's that, and then some.

Heading into this encounter between two of the biggest names ever to lace up a pair of boots, the powers that be expected NWO member Hollywood Hulk Hogan to be booed and The Rock to be cheered.

However, the opposite happened as the Toronto crowd got lost in nostalgia and Hulkamania took over the Skydome.

If you want to try and convert a non believer into a professional wrestling fan then this is the match to show them. I can't see how anybody couldn't be gripped by the actions and reactions of that crowd towards The Hulkster. They made what could have been a slightly tepid match with an ageing Hogan into the match of the night - so much so that the crowd were exhausted by the time the main event began.

This one should have gone on last, didn't you know.

It's the magic of professional wrestling. No other live sporting event evokes such a response from a paying fan. This match encapsulates what sets wrestling apart from anything else, any other medium.

The reaction the Hulkster got - even though I wasn't alive during his big run in the 80 and early 90s - doesn't fail to give me goosebumps, a huge smile and maybe even a rogue tear clouding my eyesight no matter how many times I watch this match.
