Kurt Angle's 6 WWE Title Reigns Ranked From Worst To Best
1. WWE Championship (4th) 15 December 2002 - 30 March 2003
The first place, however, could only belong to this reign.
After months of having classics on a weekly basis as part of the 'SmackDown Six' era, Angle had the job of putting Brock Lesnar over big time as the company's next top champion.
Angle captured the belt from Big Show at Armageddon in December 2002 thanks to Brock (who was feuding with Show and Paul Heyman at the time), only to then turn heel and refuse to give Lesnar a title bout.
Lesnar had to enter the Royal Rumble Match in order to earn his shot, which he'd eventually win, while Angle put on one of the greatest WWE Title matches ever at that same event, with Chris Benoit.
After his feud with Benoit, Angle finally put the young Lesnar over at WrestleMania, with a broken freakin' neck, like only Kurt Angle could do.
Not only did Kurt Angle help Brock Lesnar a lot during this reign, he also introduced two new stars - Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas - and had some of the best matches of his career, particularly with Lesnar and Benoit.
