Kurt Angle's WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

Something about this match always screamed 'lost opportunity' to me. That in itself is a little strange, as the entire point of this bout was for Rey Mysterio to finally realise his dream and take the opportunity to rise to the top of the mountain, and he had two stellar opponents to work with on the night. Still, something was missing.

The easiest (and most logical) direction in which to point this finger is at the time given. The match only went just over nine minutes, and as a result everything felt rushed. Now, I'm not lobbying for every match to get 20+ minutes at WrestleMania, far from it, but do you not think that Rey Mysterio overcoming the biggest odds to win the World Heavyweight Championship deserves more time to tell its story?

All of this aside, the match itself is a lot of fun. The three men worked a tremendous pace, and got in as much as they could in the time given. Despite the supposed emotional element of Rey's story, the Chicago crowd were baying for Angle to come out on top. The champ couldn't hold on to his title, however, as Rey indeed picked up the win after pinning Orton.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
