Las Vegas Set To Host WrestleMania For 2nd Consecutive Year (WWE News)

WWE WrestleMania could be going back-to-back in Las Vegas following bombshell changes

In the wake of the news that WrestleMania 42 was no longer set to take place in New Orleans, a sensational development could see Las Veags become only the second city in WrestleMania history to go back-to-back hosting the 'Show Of Shows'.

Somewhat ironically, it was a New Orleans source that was the first to provide the news on the potential Vegas switch, per the Wrestling Observer, NOLA.com's Anthony McAuley said; After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.

Fightful Select added that a change in venue could also necessitate a date change. The Superdome show had been set for the weekend of April 11th/12th, but according to their reporting; "Those we are speaking to are expecting a date change. The early word we'd got was that no Las Vegas deal was finalized, but they were closing in on Allegiant Stadium for April 18-19".

The change is somewhat unprecedented, though WrestleMania 41 itself was thought to be headed to Minneapolis before Sin City got the nod. Should 2026's 'Grandaddy Of 'Em All' take place in Allegiant Stadium one again, it would be the second time the event has gone back-to-back in venues following WrestleMania IV and V taking place from Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ and the third time the same state has had it two years in a row - one of WrestleMania 2's venues was in Uniondale, NY, following the inaugural show taking place from Madison Square Garden a year prior, and both WrestleMania 36 and 37 took place from Florida due to being impacted by the pandemic.

WWE hasn't confirmed anything officially yet, though this year's event was first advertised on May 4th, 2024, so the company will likely look to get marketing and promotion on the move for it as and when they're able to confirm.
