Lucha Underground's 34 Wrestlers - Ranked From Worst To Best

18. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.

Pros: - Last scion of the Guerrero dynasty - Championship runs in WCW, WWE and TNA - Twenty years of pro experience Cons: - Very few appearances throughout the season - Poor win/loss record - Injured his leg in his biggest LU match If you want a good idea of how much of a disappointment pre-Lucha Chavo was, consider this: when Eddie Guerrero died, Chavo couldn't even claim to be the most prominent, charismatic member of the family because of Eddie's widow was too good at yelling. Outside the temple, he's the blandest possible luchador with nothing but a famous last name to his credit, hoping you don't notice he's terrified of failure and ignominity. Inside the Temple, he's that same thing, but on purpose. He came to cement his legacy, but he€™s Chavo Guerrero and so he doesn€™t have one. He lost to Blue Démon in the promotion€™s very first match, and Dario Cueto straight up told him he€™s a miserable failure and a disappointment to his family. In response, Chavo went nuts and nearly killed Sexy Star and Blue Démon with a chair, laughing all the while. He spent much of the rest of the season terrified of retribution from the lucha libre community, and confused about why his heel turn didn't make him feared and respected. Even after a literal lifetime in wrestling, Chavo still has no sense of personal identity. Even after this latest attempt at violent self-actualization, he€™s still playing a role and he can only understand himself in terms of wrestling storyline tropes. I don't know about you, but that's certainly the most genuine enjoyment I've ever gotten out of Chavito. Final Rating: ***3/4
