Lucha Underground's 34 Wrestlers - Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Mil Muertes

Pros: - Twenty years of experience wrestling in Puerto Rico, Mexico and the U.S. - Most AAA Mega championship reigns in history - Current Lucha Underground champion Cons: - Has been defeated in several big match situations - Defeatead by Fenix in Grave Consequences - Already 40 years old Mil Muertes is an inspired throwback, an extinct species brought back to life because BD Wong extracted 1960€™s luchador DNA trapped within amber. In a promotion full of insanely athletic young luchadors, Mil Muertes stands out by lumbering around menacingly and countering corkscrew planchas with measured haymakers. Under the mask is longtime journeyman grappler Ricky Banderas, perhaps best known in the U.S. as Abyss' disappointing brother, Judas Mesias. As Muertes, however, he's magnetic. It's as if the first two decades of his career were a protracted Husky Harris period, and he's Bray Wyatt out of nowhere. He's still no technical wizard, but Lucha Underground doesn't ask him to work a breathless reversal sequence, it asks him to loom menacingly out of the shadows like he's Orson Welles in Othello. After nearly a year of being the most impressive figure on the show, Mil Muertes finally captured the Lucha Underground championship in the main event of Ultima Lucha. Final Rating: *****
