One of the absolute best wrestling books in recent memory, is undoubtedly Jim Ross’ Under the Black Hat. And now, JR’s 2020 read could well be being turned into a movie or TV series.

Speaking on the latest episode of his Grillin’ JR podcast, Ross explained how there has been significant interest in adapting the second of his memoirs.

As Jim detailed:

“We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest and movement, especially in the last 60 days, on making Under the Black Hat into a film or a TV special. It’s not a done deal. I’m not jinxing it, because I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Ross went on to reiterate that nothing has been officially signed at this stage, but that he’s happy there’s interest in bringing his story to live-action life. JR also mentioned how if this was to happen and it was to prove a success, that would give him the added motivation to pen a third book.

For those who’ve yet to read Under the Black Hat, it’s an emotional, humourous, poignant read that picks things up in 1999 after Jim had returned to WWE TV for WrestleMania XV. From there, Ross details the rest of his time with the company, his unique relationship with Vince McMahon, and the utterly tragic loss of his wife Jan.
