AEW booked quite the major title change on the company's Christmas Day edition of Rampage.

Cody Rhodes defeated Sammy Guevara in the 'Holiday Bash' main event to become the new TNT Champion. This is Rhodes' third stint with the belt; he was the first champ, winning it back at Double Or Nothing 2020, and also enjoyed a one-month reign from October-November that same year.

It's worth noting that most fans in attendance for Rampage (which was taped alongside Wednesday's episode of Dynamite ahead of time) booed Cody for beating Guevara. That's perhaps no surprise, because AEW fans have been jeering Rhodes on and off for a while now.

Post-show, Cody grabbed the mic and said he "had a feeling in his heel". This could've been a tease that the new champ is about to go full-blown villain and turn on the AEW audience. Or, Rhodes might just be messing with everybody and reading the room.

Guevara beat Miro on the 29 September Dynamite. His TNT Title run lasted a total of 84 days, but AEW's records show 87 days because this week's Rampage aired on tape delay.
