Major Update On Vince McMahon's Creative Influence In WWE
Bad news for anyone who thought Vince McMahon's WWE influence might wane...
Vince McMahon's influence on WWE is expected to keep growing as Endeavor's purchase of the market-leading wrestling promotion edges closer to closing.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports, as other outlets have in the past, that McMahon has been enacting creative influence over WWE, largely remotely, since WrestleMania 39. This is expected to expand over the coming weeks and months.
Endeavor agreed a deal to purchase WWE in April, installing McMahon, 77, as the lead figure on the wrestling side. That agreement is expected to close later this year in a move that will see WWE effectively merge with the UFC.
Vince's creative fingerprints were understood to be all over last night's episode of Raw, as has seemingly become the norm in WWE.
The Endeavor transaction saw McMahon regain the final say on all things WWE creative. Paul 'Triple H' Levesque remains the company's Chief Content Officer and head of creative, though nary a week passes without reports of Vince change plans initially laid down by Levesque, often at the last minute.
July 2022 saw McMahon forced to resign in disgrace from his position as WWE Chairman and CEO amidst allegations of sexual misconduct.
