Malakai Black Reveals WWE Advice Bray Wyatt "Instilled" In Him

Bray Wyatt's WWE release came as a shock to Black, but the AEW man recalls some key advice.

Bray Wyatt was a bit of a sounding board for AEW's Malakai Black when the pair worked together in WWE.

Black told Sean Waltman's 'Pro Wrestling 4 Life' podcast that Bray getting released by the company surprised him, but it also helped him recall some key advice from the one-time 'Fiend'. According to Malakai, Wyatt would always tell him to "just fight for what you want to do".

Of course, that was only half the battle - convincing WWE higher-ups to actually put such wishes into practice was another war altogether. Even so, Malakai agreed with the whole "die on your own sword" mentality, and always admired how headstrong Bray was when dealing with the creative team or top members of WWE management.

Wyatt's belief was that looking oneself in the mirror and knowing you did all you could was important mentally. That, he explained, would serve wrestlers better in the long run. Black said Bray constantly "instilled" this way of thinking into him when times got tough, and it's something he's since carried over into AEW.

Maybe Wyatt will get to do exactly the same soon. Stranger things have happened.
