In some hugely surprising news, WWE has released Mandy Rose.

Via Fightful Select, WWE felt as if they had no choice but to release the now-former NXT Women's Champion due to the "explicit nature" of the content on Rose's FanTime page. As Fightful details, the market leader felt this content to be "outside the parameters" of Mandy's WWE contract.

The outlet also notes how they received word last night that the 32-year-old was to drop the NXT Women's Title to Roxanne Perez after the company made an "abrupt" decision.

With Rose losing the top prize of the women's division on last night's NXT, the vast majority of fans predicated that this was a move to free Mandy and her Toxic Attraction stable up for a switch to either Raw or SmackDown. Instead, that title change was merely a way to get the Women's Championship off Rose as part of her departure from the company.

The real-life Amanda Saccomanno had been under the WWE banner as far back as 2015, with her WWE career starting life as a contestant on Tough Enough. By 2017, Rose was on the main roster, initially paired up with Sonya Deville and Paige as Absolution.

While her main roster run was somewhat of a mixed bag, the New Yorker's career took a major upturn upon returning to NXT in 2017. Alongside Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, Mandy's Toxic Attraction faction become a highlight of the NXT brand, and Rose herself vastly improved as an in-ring worker during that spell - as showcased by how she had an impressive 413-day reign as the NXT Women's Champion.
